Cultural diversity means that people in the same society bring different traditions, languages and habits. A stereotype is a fixed idea about a whole group, and it ignores individual differences. Stereotypes are convenient shortcuts but they produce unfair judgements, so neutral language is essential. Instead of 'people from X are always late' we should write 'some individuals may have different attitudes to time'.
